ABOUT ROB STRAIN
MEET ROB STRAIN
Rob Strain's love affair with light and form began when he was given a camera and darkroom equipment as an early teen. Since then he has been published in many magazines, written the e-book How to Photograph Sand Dunes of the American Southwest and he now writes the Photoboomers newsletter, with the objective to "Enhance the Better Half of Life Through Photography". Rob is also available for private and small group custom workshops as well as serving as a guide in many locations.
His portfolio reflects influences or Ansel Adams' tone system and the challenges of tooth shades as an Accredited Cosmetic Dentist. The play of light and reflected color are a dominant themes. The golden proportion as seen in works of Renaissance masters help define "beauty" and certainly affect his eye for a scene. The discovery of a metaphorical scene makes his day! When light, compositions and metaphors happen at once, the results become magical.
