May started off with my backpacking trip with Bill to Southern Utah. Be sure to read my blog article all about the trip in this issue. Barbara has been suffering with serious allergies for the past year. That means she has not been out in the field with me much, or even on her own. We have determined that it is best for us to move back to the California desert where junipers and oak trees don't thrive. There has been considerable work getting our house ready to put on the market. If any of you hear of incentives to get former Californians to move back, please let us know! The Mother's Day Fine Art Festival was a super success, with the sale of many larger prints. I am still fulfilling orders from the event. "Every Photographers Guide to Photographing the South Rim of the Grand Canyon" will be completed this month. Editing has been sandwiched around all the other May activities, but it is nearing completion. It will be sold through Photographers Trail Notes. We are heading out for a 17 day car trip to the Pacific Northwest coast, with a few stops to see friends along the way. It will be great to be in the field with Barbara again. There is still space in the Grand Canyon Monsoon Workshop at the North Rim August 7-11. This will be a small group of photographers, but this is an ideal workshop to bring a non-photographer partner. Because of the move back to California I have reduced the November Caddo Lake workshop to one workshop this year and am limiting it to dentists only. There are already four signups. Because we take small boats out, this size is perfect, but two more could come and we would add another small boat. This worked great last year. Let me know. Also, if you are interested, but not a dentist, I will put you on a list for 2025 or refer you to another good workshop this year. |
